How many rhinos are poached in South Africa?
In the first half of 2023, a total of 231 rhinos were poached in South Africa. This figure represents an eleven percent decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. The Kruger National Park saw 42 rhinos poached, while in the KwaZulu-Natal province, 143 rhinos were poached. The remaining rhinos were poached in various other provincial and private reserves across the country.
