Senator Remi Tinubu is the representative for Nigeria’s Lagos Central district. She is a member of the All Progressives Congress. Her husband, Bola Tinubu, is the party’s national leader.
It was posted on 10 July 2019. At the time Tinubu was trending on Twitter because of an altercation she had with fellow senator Elisha Abbo during a senate disciplinary hearing. Abbo had been caught on camera assaulting a woman at a sex shop.
The Scannews post is an apparent reference to the senate altercation. It continues: “Such a bully is now the one probing a fellow bully in the Senate. We joke too much in this country.”

The photo in the Facebook post does not show Tinubu. A Yandex reverse image search led us to a five-year-old video by Channels TV, which shows the fight in the photo.
The incident took place in the house of representatives in September 2013, when the leader of a breakaway faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Baraje, visited.
The people in the fight were members of the house of representatives. Tinubu has been a member of the senate since 2011. – Allwell Okpi
