IN SHORT: A grainy photo of a dramatic confrontation does not show a Kenyan student fighting her lecturer over a love triangle gone wrong. It's an incident in the US, motive unknown.
“Fourth year student in Kibabii university fights her lecturer over boyfriend. This is after the girl found a conversation between the lecturer and her boyfriend on whatsapp. The lecturer had sent the boy her nudes with a caption 'all this is for you',” one post reads.
The public university is in Bungoma county.
But is the claim legit? We checked.
Incident from the US
According to the website, the teacher had to be hospitalised after her leg was broken in the attack. It added that the student was arrested and charged. Other news websites also covered the incident, but it was not reported why the student attacked the teacher.
The incident did not take place at a Kenyan university; the claim spread on social media in the country is false.
