New data sheds light on claims of Africa's rising economic performance

This article is more than 10 years old

Claims made recently about Africa's economic performance generally focus on so-called macro-economic figures.

The independent research project Afrobarometer instead polled the views of more than 51,000 Africans from 34 countries from 2011-2013 to explore their experience. Its findings shed light on the claims. "32% say their personal living conditions have improved in the past year; 33% say conditions have gotten worse; 34% saw no change".

Check this and their wider findings. - Africa Check 31/10/13
