SDG 6 seeks to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation for all. In Sub-Saharan Africa, as of 2020, 30% of the population used a safely managed drinking water service, 21% of the population used a safely managed sanitation service, and 26% of the population had a handwashing facility with soap and water available at home.
