Where does Africa stand in terms of meeting global water and sanitation targets, such as the sustainable development goals (SDG)?
SDG 6 aims to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation for all. In sub-Saharan Africa, as of 2022, 31% of the population used a safely managed drinking water service, 24% of the population used a safely managed sanitation service, and 23% of the population had a handwashing facility with soap and water available at home.
