Is the IMF giving money to people affected by Covid-19?

Yes. The International Monetary Fund is providing financial assistance and debt service relief to member countries facing the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through its various lending facilities and debt service relief, it has made about $250 billion - a quarter of its $1 trillion lending capacity - available to member countries.

As part of the Covid-19-related arrangements, borrowing countries have committed to undertake governance measures to promote the accountable and transparent use of the resources.
