What are the most prevalent reported crimes in Kenya?

The National Police Service’s annual crime report reported 69,645 criminal cases in 2020. Of those, assault was the most reported category with 14,046 cases. Offences against morality were the second most reported category with 9,153 cases or 13.2%. Under this category, defilement was the largest contributor with 7,381 cases. Stealing was the third largest category and it accounted for 13.1% of all the cases or 8,709 cases.
