When will South African schools reopen?

On 26 March, Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga said rumours that schools would open in September were false. She urged South Africans to ignore information that did not come from the department.

When schools reopen would depend on whether the country manages to “flatten the curve” during the 21-day lockdown, she said on 28 March.
