Ahead of World Aids Day tomorrow, Africa Check verified that South Africa does have the largest antiretroviral therapy programme in the world. In fact, at last count it was bigger than the size of India, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Mozambique’s programmes combined.
The New Age newspaper recently reported that “about 41%” of further education and training (FET) college students in South Africa are HIV positive. Africa Check discovered this statistic is vastly inaccurate.
