WHO Bulletin: Intimate femicide–suicide in South Africa
To examine the incidence and patterns of intimate femicide-suicide in South Africa and to describe the factors associated with an increase in the risk of suicide after intimate femicide (i.e. the killing of an intimate female partner). A cross-sectional retrospective national mortuary-based study was conducted at a proportionate random sample of 25 legal laboratories to identify all homicides committed in 1999 of women aged over 13 years. Data was collected from the mortuary file, autopsy report and a police interview.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is charged with the oversight responsibility over the South African Police Services (SAPS) and Municipal Police Services (MPS). IPID discharges its mandate by conducting independent and impartial investigations of the identified criminal offenses allegedly committed by the SAPS and the MPS members, subsequent to the investigation they make appropriate recommendations for justice.

Economic trends in South African agriculture for 2017
The Trends in the Agricultural Sector report is an economic review of agriculture in South Africa. Published by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, it covers the 12 months ending in June 2017.
Indices of the volume of agricultural production in South Africa for split years (1980/81 to 2015/16) and calendar years (1985 to 2016). The data is compiled by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
Statistics South Africa's annual Victims of Crime Survey indicates the rate at which specific types of crime are reported to the police. A supplement to each year's official crime statistics, it focuses on assault, sexual assault and burglary - crimes that are often under-reported.
The South African Police Service releases its annual crime statistics report in September each year. It provides data on cases reported and the incidence of cases per 100,000 people. It allows comparisons between police station precincts, and between the nine provinces.
The Southern African Legal Information Institute manages the largest public database of legal information in South Africa. It includes government gazettes, journals, judgments and legislation.
