How many people does one police officer serve in Kenya?

In September 2018, the National Police Service underwent re-organisation. As of that date, the Kenya Police Service had 80,773 officers, including general duty police, the General Service Unit and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. The Administration Police Service had 24,780 officers, including the Security of Government Building/Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit, Rapid Deployment Unit, Border Patrol Unit and the Anti-Stock Theft Unit. In total, there were 105,553 police officers in Kenya.

In 2018, Kenya had an estimated 47.8 million people, according to the Economic Survey 2019. This means that, as of September 2018, every police officer was serving an average of 453 people.
