Is there any credible medical evidence that Ivermectin was effective in treating Covid-19 during the pandemic?

In a 28 January 2021 statement, The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) said, “to date there is insufficient evidence for or against the use of ivermectin in the prevention or treatment of COVID-19,” However, in the interim, SAHPRA will implement a compassionate use access program. SAHPRA says it will adjust its position on the use of ivermectin as needed after it has analysed available evidence. In September 2021 SAHPRA said it still had the same view.
