Where in Africa can transgender people legally change their sex description and gender marker?

Namibia and South Africa are the only countries in Africa that have legal procedures to change a person’s name and gender marker on identity documents.

These two processes give trans and gender diverse people the ability to hold identity documents that match their identity and expression, which in turn helps them access other rights and services in their daily lives.
