Is more than 50% of South Africa's generated power being stolen by illegal users?

No. According to Eskom’s latest integrated report, the power utility generated 205,688GWh of electricity between April 2021 and March 2022, of which 24,811GWh was lost as a result of technical issues, errors and electricity theft. This amounts to a 12% loss.
