Which African countries emit the most greenhouse gases?

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), South Africa and Nigeria were the largest emitters of greenhouse gases in 2019. The DRC emitted 679.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO2e), South Africa emitted 562.2 MtCO2e and Nigeria emitted 354.3 MtCO2e.
