The post has been shared over 368 times since it was first published. Multiple posts making the same claim were published on the same day.

Clicks running ‘buy three get one free’ promotion

On 14 November Twitter users began sharing the claim.

One user tweeted: “Pads are free at Clicks!! Help a sister out & Spread the word.”

Another user asked Clicks directly: “Are pads really free @Clicks_SA”

On 16 November Clicks refuted the claim on their verified Twitter account

“Hi, Buy any 3 selected pads and you get the cheapest one for free,” the company said.

Although the tweet said that the promotion ended on 18 November, the promotion is still being advertised for selected brands of sanitary pads on their website.
