But it’s a scam. You won’t get a job here – and could lose money instead.
“We are recruiting 150 people per County,” it reads. Kenya has 47 counties. “Interested candidates are invited to make online applications by filling the required details on the forms below.”
It links to a Google Form that lists the jobs available, qualifications needed and salaries offered.
The scam shows up on the second page of the form.
“All applicants are required to book for their interviews by registering with the Human resource officer. A registration fee of Ksh. 350 only is required,” it says.
Post on page with 19 followers
The post is on a Facebook page titled “Vivo Energy Kenya”, which has the handle @Vivo-Energy-Kenya-106307920918531. It was created on 21 January 2020 and has just 19 followers.
It doesn’t appear on Vivo Energy Kenya’s official Facebook page, @vivoenergyKE. This was created on 12 August 2014, and has more than 14,000 followers.
And there’s no sign of any ad offering 150 jobs in all 47 counties on the company’s website, its careers page or its Twitter account.
‘No charges on any application fee’
Vivo Energy Kenya has shared a screenshot of the scam post on its Facebook and Twitter accounts, with “FAKE” stamped on it in red.
It says it doesn’t charge any application fee at any stage of its hiring process.
“These vacancies posts purportedly associated to Vivo Energy Kenya have been circulating on various social media platforms,” the company warns.
“We would like to declare BOTH the pages and the posts FAKE. Vivo Energy Kenya and Shell do not charge any application fee (refundable or non-refundable) at any stage of the recruitment process.” – Dancan Bwire
