IN SHORT: Some social media posts claim that singer Rema collapsed during a performance in November 2023. But the incident happened in November 2022.
“Pray for Rema!! heartbreaking moment Rema breakdown and faint on stage while performing on his concert last night (watch video),” reads a 23 November 2023 post on Facebook.
Rema, born Divine Ikubor, is an award-winning Nigerian artist.
The claim comes eight days after Rema performed at the 02 Arena, a large stadium in London in the United Kingdom.
The post has received over 6,000 likes and over a thousand comments, mostly wishing him a speedy recovery.
It features a link to a blog where a video shows the artist collapsing on stage.

But did Rema collapse on stage in November 2023? We checked.
A viral 2022 video
A Google search of the phrase “Rema collapses” brings up several reports of the event. Rema reportedly collapsed during a performance in London in November 2022.
Videos of the 2022 incident can be found here, here, here and here. However, it was later reported to have been a prank.
We found no reports of the artist collapsing on stage in November 2023, only of him postponing shows due to health issues.
