Muktar Balogun, a graduate of Federal University Oye-Ekiti, joined Africa Check as an editorial intern at the Nigeria office in June 2023. He previously served as an intern fact-checker at DUBAWA while he was a student. Muktar also had a stint at The Nation as an intern at the newspaper's online department. Additionally, he held the position of editor for the Union of Campus Journalists at his university. He was a runner-up for the best fact-check at the Centre for Journalism, Innovation, and Development (CJID) campus journalism awards.
