Souleymane Diassy joined Africa Check in February 2023 as a researcher and community manager. Winner of the 2019 African Fact-checking Awards in the category for journalism students, he was a freelancer for Africa Check's francophone office from May 2020 to January 2023. He holds a higher diploma in journalism and communication from the Centre d'Etudes des Sciences et Techniques de l'Information (CESTI) in Dakar. He was also an intern at the Senegalese news agency. Passionate about digital innovation, Souleymane is an active member of La Maison des Reporters, an independent Senegalese media specialised in investigative reporting. Souleymane has produced several award-winning reports at the national level. Before joining Africa Check, he was a community manager at the Senegalese Personal Data Protection Commission.
