Taryn Khourie holds a bachelor's degree majoring in English literature and media studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, and an honours degree in media studies from UNISA. She joined Africa Check in April 2019 as a research intern and has worked up to become Africa Check's data and project researcher in November 2022. Among her duties, Taryn manages the "What's Crap on WhatsApp?" project. She enjoys playing several instruments, painting and spending quality time with her family. She is also a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, where she was awarded the Professor Jeff Johnston Study Abroad Scholarship.
